Yes Direct Appoints Former McCann Erickson Chief Executive June 2007

Yes Direct has appointed Brian Child, former Chief Executive of McCann Erickson Manchester, to the Board as non-executive director.

Brian’s appointment will strengthen the leadership team at Yes and help steer the agency through the next stage of its growth.

Yes has been enjoying a very fertile period over the last twelve months, with a raft of new names being added to its client roster – Ibstock Brick, Newey & Eyre, Scotts, animal health giant Intervet, Swift Prestige Hire (part of FTSE listed Helphire plc), plus two major financial services companies.

The agency has also just received confirmation that it is once more included in the Recommended Agency Register 2007, becoming the only Midlands agency to do so for the third year running.

Recommended Agency Register (RAR) is a company which advises client marketers on agency search and selection.  It conducts an independent marketing industry study which invites leading clients to complete a confidential survey where they rate the agencies they use across a number of categories including account handling, creativity, value for money, strategic thinking and overall professionalism.

With more than 800 agencies reviewed, only those achieving high recommendation are included.  Making it into the top 100, Yes scored very highly across all categories, particularly creativity and account management.

David Patrick, Managing Director, said:  "We have achieved a great deal in the last twelve months and our renewed listing in the RAR 2007 top 100 is a tremendous boost.  We are now ready to take the business to the next level.  Brian Child’s appointment represents a significant step in the development of Yes Direct.  His continued passion and commitment to the business combined with his outstanding experience and network make him the perfect partner to take the agency forward.”

During his time at the helm of McCann Erickson, Brian Child grew the company to become the largest agency outside London, overseeing a client list that included Peugeot, Coca Cola, Esso, UPS, Next and GUS.  He was also made Chairman of the McCann UK Network with offices in Belfast, Bristol, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Windsor.  In 1999 he became Vice President of McCann Europe and established Momentum – a network of event and sales promotion companies across 23 countries in Africa and Europe.

Brian is a trustee of Chester Zoo and a non-executive director of The Mission Group and Elmwood Design.
